The Adopt-a-Bed initiative is a great way to foster community involvement and city pride. Each year, over 60 volunteers sign up to plant and maintain garden plots in 10 locations around the city, including: Princess Park, Stanley Park, and the Community Sportsplex.  Volunteers include individuals, community groups, and local businesses from Brandon. A big thank-you to the Parks department for all the additional help!

It kicks off with our Spring Planting Days, where volunteers and city staff meet at the designated gardens and plant the flower beds. We provide volunteers with snacks and refreshments, and make sure to snap plenty of pictures! After planting, volunteers are responsible for checking on and maintaining the gardens on a regular basis throughout the growing season. This year, the Spring Planting Days are scheduled for May 29th, May 30th, and May 31st (Rain dates of June 5th, 6th, and 7th). Each time and day is different depending on the location.
