Adopt-A-Bed

Volunteers Planting an Adopt-a-Bed

The Adopt-a-Bed initiative is a great way to foster community involvement and city pride. Each year, over 60 volunteers sign up to plant and maintain garden plots in 10 locations around the city, including Princess Park, Stanley Park, and the Community Sportsplex.  Volunteers include individuals, community groups, and local businesses from Brandon. A big thank-you to the volunteers and the Parks Department for all their hardwork and commitment to our city!

It kicks off every year with our Spring Planting Days, where volunteers and city staff meet at the designated gardens and plant the flower beds. We provide volunteers with refreshments, and make sure to snap plenty of pictures! After planting, volunteers are responsible for checking on and maintaining the gardens on a regular basis throughout the growing season. We have finished our Spring Planting Days but if you still want to volunteer, please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
